TURBOCHARGER DIVISION

The turbocharger industry is a key technological asset for BD. Most of their key staff members have extensive experience in this field. BD prioritizes customer needs, offering fast turnaround and state-of-the-art compressor and turbine wheels.

Each BD turbocharger is handcrafted to the highest standards, using precision lathes, milling equipment, honing machines, and inspection CMMs to ensure they exceed OEM specifications.

ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGN AND ASSEMBLY

Electronic technology is now integral to the automotive industry, enhancing safety, performance, and driving. BD Diesel Performance has established a robust electronic department to focus on this technology. By addressing core customer needs, they eliminate potential product failures and optimize key features for comprehensive solutions.

FUEL INJECTION CALIBRATION DEPARTMENT

With its roots as a diesel fuel systems specialist, BD Diesel Truck Service & Performance Center is a factory-certified calibration and repair lab for Bosch, Stanadyne, Delphi, and Zexel. It is one of the few injection shops in North America with a Bosch Common Rail parts overhaul and testing franchise.

VFI rebuilds nearly all mechanical and electronically controlled fuel pumps and injectors for diesel engines and can service gas direct injectors. The fuel injection department, led by Craig Warren, is fully equipped and dedicated to fuel injection technology.

TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER

Transmissions face the ambitious challenge of transferring all torque from the diesel engine to the drive wheels while maintaining shift quality and minimizing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). While stock configurations handle this adequately, high-output diesels produce 2-4 times the original engine torque, a remarkable feat. Using advanced CAD and FEA simulation technology, BD predicts and prevents failures before they occur, reducing product and development cycle times by half. This results in continuous improvements and increased torque capacity.

EXHAUST BRAKE, BUTTERFLY VALVE MANUFACTURING

BD established its reputation in the early 90s with exhaust brakes, creating various casting designs for both engine and remote mount air-actuated systems. These featured rugged cast-iron bodies and offset stainless steel butterflies for peak efficiency.

The Positive Air Shutdown system, using a compact butterfly valve, provides emergency engine shutdown. Additionally, BD designed a Turbine Diverter valve to enhance turbocharger response time for turbos lacking Variable Geometry regulation.
