Due to the popularity of KC Turbos TP38R turbo (also known as the OBS Tiger Turbo) for the OBS truck, they decided to make a smaller version for those who are running average-size injectors. The KC Turbos TP38r 66mm/73mm turbocharger has a drastically different 66mm compressor wheel. The wheel is a larger, 7x7 wheel and has been modelled after the 366sxe compressor wheel. It has the same profile, shape, and blade style, however, it is reverse rotation. This wheel is not only bigger but engineered to be stronger. It also utilizes thicker blades, a thicker hub, and thicker backing, making it much less prone to fatigue and wheel bursts. To top it all off, the 73mm Turbine wheel is now much larger than the old 70mm wheel and has an increased shaft thickness of 7.5mm from the previous 6.4mm.
