This tank holds approximately 60 gallons of fuel, that's 9 more gallons than competitor tanks and 29 more than OEM! The float's empty position in the S&B Tank is the same as the OEM tank. Since the bottom surface area on the S&B Tank is larger, the 60-gallon tank has a greater fuel reserve.

This tank features a built-in sump which can be used for aftermarket lift pump installation if desired. S&B recommends aftermarket lift pumps be installed according to the pump manufacturer's instructions only. The S&B sump will not cure typical "1/4 tank issues"  common with aftermarket lift pumps.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What is the "sump" ? Is the whole 60 gallons going to get used by the truck or does the sump hold some from being used? What all is needed to complete the install. I own a 2000 f250 crew cab short bed 7.3

The sump helps prevent fuel starvation by keeping fuel at the pickup point, especially when running at low fuel levels. The sump design allows for nearly all of the 60 gallons to be used, but there may be a small amount that remains (typically 1-2 gallons). OEM sending unit is reused, fuel tank straps (included in kit), and then standard tools to do the job.
