The stock turbo inlet horn on the LB7 trucks is not fantastic and this is why: let's start with the performance of the factory turbo inlet horn, the turbo inlet horn's job is to funnel air from the intake into the turbo. The factory piece does not do a good job, it is very restrictive and does not flow well due to its size and its bends. The stock turbo inlet horn also is very simple looking, it is not a good accent and can not really be cleaned up.
The biggest issue with the LB7 trucks is that the stock turbo just feels choked. The factory IHI turbo needs to be able to consume as much air as possible no matter the circumstances. With the small addition of the HSP Stock Turbo Inlet Horn, you can jam that stock turbo with so much more air than the factory that you will be able to get so much more out of that stock turbo.
